Health Matters: Supporting Respiratory Care and Research at the MUHC

Health Matters podcast MUHC foundation Dream Big Posts

Lisa Giannone, one of the co-chairs of this year’s Le Bal Rouge shares the personal reasons she chose to support excellent respiratory care and research at the MUHC.

(Time on Podcast: 31:20). This year’s Le Bal Rouge is a special event honoring Dr. Kevin Schwartzman. The event is showcasing the incredible research and care that is going on at the MUHC. Money raised this year will go towards the Montreal Chest Institute. Lisa Giannone describes her personal experience when her son had a severe case of RSV, or respiratory syncytial virus, when he was only 20 months old. RSV can cause severe infections of the lungs and respiratory tract, especially in young children. Le Bal Rouge supports an important cause to raise funds for research and care. Every donation counts. Even if the MUHC Foundation receives large donations from a few donors that go a long way, there is also something special about receiving small donations from 1000 people. These small donations mean so much because it means the community is really behind the cause and the type of research going on at the MUHC.
