This week on Health Matters, the Montreal Chest Institute has officially merged with the MUHC Foundation. Hear from a patient who has been followed by the MCI for nearly two decades.
(Time on Podcast: 0:40) A patient with COPD who has been followed at the Montreal Chest Institute for the past 17 years discusses her story. She describes how, after smoking for several years, she developed a chronic cough and shortness of breath that persistently got worse. She describes how living with COPD is very difficult, and one needs to really be aware of their body and symptoms and take care of their health. With her lung capacity only at 15%, each breath can be a challenge. Some days are better than others, but with the support she receives from the Montreal Chest Institute, she can still get around and manages her disease. She credits her level of care at the Montreal Chest Institute and the excellent nurses and care team with helping her with her disease. Easy access to the care team, an action plan, and incredible access to personalized care makes the Montreal Chest Institute a wonderful hospital. Listen to the inspiring story.
