Congratulations to Dr. Faiz Ahmad Khan for the 2021 McGill Department of Medicine Outreach Award in recognition of his work enhancing the links between the McGill Department of Medicine and the community. Since beginning his full-time faculty appointment at McGill in 2015, Dr. Ahmad Khan has developed an unparalleled clinical, academic collaboration and outreach with diverse community and institutional partners in Nunavik. He provides direct care to persons with diverse respiratory conditions while in Nunavik, and he coordinates respiratory investigations and care for Nunavimmiut who must travel to the MUHC while in Montreal. Above and beyond these very substantial clinical contributions, Dr. Ahmad Khan has developed groundbreaking collaborative research and public health projects, in close partnership with Nunavik community leaders and public health authorities.

About the Department of Medicine Outreach Award:

This award recognizes attending staff, residents or teams who have enhanced links between the McGill
Department of Medicine or its hospitals and the community, especially to underserved or minority groups, or who heighten the reputation of the Department and/or hospitals in the greater community, for example by leadership
in an outside organization e.g. in the community, global health.
