Drs. Dao Nguyen and Karine Auclair received funding from the MI4 Seed Fund Grant Round 4 Competition. Their grant is entitled “Discovering Novel Antimicrobials from the Canadian High Arctic“. Their project is proposing a new approach to antimicrobial discovery by studying novel antimicrobials from the Arctic. They will isolate and identify the bioactive molecules that have antibacterial and/or antifungal activity. These outcomes will provide essential data to develop novel therapeutics to aid in the fight against antimicrobial resistance.
