We share with you a picture from the Lauzon lab taken immediately after they went for their second COVID-19 vaccine dose this summer. For the past 20 months, we haven’t been able to organize student social events, had to limit how many people came on site at any given time, and endured endless hours on zoom. Unsurprisingly, their graduate student experience has been beyond challenging. Despite this, the Lauzon lab decided to support each other and went together to receive their second COVID-19 dose. Thank you, Lauzon lab, for sharing!
As of November 15, 2021, it will be mandatory for all RI-MUHC and Meakins staff and students to be vaccinated against COVID-19 when they come to the labs to perform their research. The Meakins has over 120 graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, undergraduates, technicians, and research associates/assistants who have been coming in regularly and working tirelessly since the onset of the pandemic. We wish to express our thanks to those who have already been double vaccinated and for everyone’s efforts to keep each other safe!
