New Fellow in the CAHS

Congratulations to Dr. Jean Bourbeau, who has been named the 2024 CIHR-CTS Distinguished Lecturer in Respiratory Sciences for 2024

Congratulations to Dr. Jean Bourbeau, Senior Scientist in the RI-MUHC’s RESP Program and newly elected Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences. The Canadian Academy of Health Sciences recognizes individuals for their leadership in, and commitment to, their field of expertise. Being elected to the CAHS is one of the most prestigious honors in the Canadian health sciences community.

Jean Bourbeau is a Professor at McGill University, the Director of the Center of Innovative Medicine at the RI-MUHC, Director of the COPD and Pulmonary Rehabilitation at the Montreal Chest Institute of the MUHC, and Respirologist in the Respiratory Division of the Department of Medicine at the MUHC. He is past president of the Canadian Thoracic Society and was honored with the Distinguished Scientist Award by McGill University from 2020-2025. Dr. Bourbeau also received the Canadian Thoracic Society’s Distinguished Achievement Award in 2017 and was named the Distinguished CHEST Educator of the American Colleague of Chest Physicians from 2017-2020.
