Matheus was also named the lauréat des Journées de la relève en Recherche (J2R), based on the quality of his research and the quality of his French oral presentation. He will receive a paid trip to Paris to present at the annual Journée de Recherche Respiratoire (J2R) in France.

As of November 15, 2021, it will be mandatory for all RI-MUHC and Meakins staff and students to be vaccinated against COVID-19 when they come to the labs to perform their research. The Meakins has over 120 graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, undergraduates, technicians, and research associates/assistants who have been coming in regularly and working tirelessly since the onset of the pandemic.
