We will be hosting the 2023 RI-MUHC Summer Student Research Day on Friday, August 11, 2023 in collaboration with the other RI programs.
Who can submit an abstract: Any undergraduate student, summer, or visiting student enrolled at the RI-MUHC. Abstracts will be chosen for either an oral or poster presentation.
Abstract Submission deadline: Thursday, July 20 @ 5pm, using the following site: https://event.fourwaves.com/2023summer. Information on abstract format and presentation format is available on this website.
Registration deadline: August 9. This event is open to the entire RI-MUHC community. However, lunch will only be provided for presenting students and one member of their research team (PI or student mentor).
This year, DCAT is once again offering Summer Students the opportunity to attend a series of workshops designed to help them hone their scientific presentation skills. We strongly recommend that all students who are participating in Summer Student Research Day attend these workshops.
Workshop Schedule (all workshops take place 12:00-1:30pm on Zoom)
- Session 1: Analyzing audience and purpose to convey scientific knowledge to a broad audience Tuesday, July 11, 2023
- Session 2: Presentation style, specifically effective techniques of voice and body language Tuesday, July 18, 2023
- Session 3: Using PowerPoint or other visuals to support communication Tuesday, July 25, 2023
